The Miners Strike 1984. I went to the South Wales coalfield and lived with the miners for some days in that frozen, bitter winter. The piece describes, inter alia, the part played by the women, keeping the striking miners and their families fed with soup kitchens, and keeping their spirits alive. It was a heartbreaking story.
