Wendy Mandy is an acupuncturist, reflexologist and a shamanic healer, practising in London. She is a precious and exceptional person in my life and those of many others. She has connected me with her worlds of consciousness, the shamanic worlds she has studied from the South American rainforests to the savannah of Africa with their ancient wisdom and healing powers; their connection with nature and the magic of the universe. This has helped to heal in me and others I know the tribulations of the classic punishment and reward upbring of so many in our culture; we both, early in our lives felt the love and nurturing powers of indigenous African societies – myself through their music. Wendy hs connected me to this powerful world of ancestral knowledge through her closeness to Samburu culture and their deep understanding and attachment to nature. I leave her rooms feeling an extraordinary calm and centredness, a light trance with the physical effects of the African rattles and Nepalese gongs. Hers is a healing of the brain by the brain of the heart which is so often forgotten in our world so increasingly dominated by fear and danger. We did this podcast interview for Prince Street Radio – a platform devoted to food in its various roles and manifestations.
“Prince Street is the culture podcast for people who love the world of food. With celebrity interviews and field reports our team of award-winning journalists, actors and writers explore the ever-changing world of what we eat, what we cook, and the surprising ways food is life.”
